Max Mallinson is a Senior Finance Broker and the head of Clifton Private Finance’s London office. He has worked in specialist property lending for four years, focusing primarily on bridging and development finance.
Max advises clients across regulated and unregulated bridging loans, property refurbishment projects, and development finance. He also has experience assisting property investors with buy-to-let refinancing where this forms part of their wider funding requirements.
He began his career with Clifton Private Finance in 2022 as a Finance Executive before gaining further advisory experience across short-term property finance, commercial investment mortgages, and buy-to-let lending. Max returned to Clifton in August 2025 with a broader understanding of the specialist lending market and now supports clients from initial funding assessment through to completion.
Max holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP), the Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER), and the Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance (CPSP) qualification.
His professional training, combined with his experience across several areas of specialist property lending, enables him to assess complex requirements and identify suitable funding structures for each client’s circumstances.
Outside work, Max is a keen sports enthusiast with particular interests in cricket, rugby and golf. He also enjoys health and fitness, reading classic novels, and listening to podcasts.
